Infor Lawson System Upgrades Requiring Immediate Action (June 2023)

With the announcement of support for Lawson through 2030, many Infor customers have decided to allocate more time toward planning for their CloudSuite upgrade. Some organizations are also facing other factors, such as resource constraints, competing projects or maintenance of a hybrid environment, that are driving continued support of the on-prem Lawson system. Doing so imposes a need to upgrade your Windows servers to maintain support and compliance.

If your environment is running the Windows 2012 R2 operating system, action must be taken as we near its end of life (October 2023). This upgrade shouldn’t be taken lightly.     Decommission Notice - Infor HR Talent (GHR/TM) to HRM Lawson Interface

    Infor recently announced the decommission of a Human Resource Management (HRM) / HR Talent interface for payroll processing. The new Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) based interface will address several known issues by allowing for the movement of data bi-directionally from Infor HR Talent and Infor Human Resources Management (HRM) using flat files, eliminating the use of AGS calls.

    Adopting this new interfacing method will remove functionality limitations to deliver significantly improved performance. This immediately effects customers using version 11.0.36 or higher. However, for those not yet on this release, we recommend you make a plan to take advantage of this new and improved functionality.     Master your Data

    Are you preparing to upgrade to CloudSuite Financials ("CSF")? Plan on reviewing and cleansing master data tables, like the vendor master and item master. These two tables can help your organization analyze and manage expenses. Standardization is the key for both the vendor master and the item master. Have a set naming convention, address, item descriptions and manufacturer number. Since there are a limited number of characters on these fields, it is important to utilize a standard abbreviation method. This will ensure that details are entered the same and minimize the possibility of duplicates.

    Upcoming Microsoft Changes to LDAP and its Impact to your Infor/Lawson System

    Microsoft recently announced plans to enforce LDAPS secure connections to and from Active Directory using SSL certificates (encrypting all traffic). This change, scheduled to be implemented in the 3rd quarter of 2020, will impact all applications that still rely on LDAP bind connections to Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) in your environments.
